Recently bought a 2008 chevrolet kalos as a little fun project. I've always wanted to learn how to fix cars and have a project of my own. I've encountered an issue with the manual gearbox on it where 5th gear is extremely loose to the point I can take it out by pushing it to the side. the gearbox also feels like all the gears are very far away from each other. Any recommendations for diagnostics? So far I've seen suggestions on the Internet about maybe transmission fluid. gearbox linkage or maybe the actual H shifter. I live in the UK.
