Stripe standard is massive user friction, Stripe express is massive financial overheard

Hello all,

I've been integrating Stripe into my application and testing user workflows. Stripe standard is massive user friction - I'm basically asking a casual seller to make another new account and complete 15 minutes of onboarding just to make a listing.

Express is better, but $2 monthly charges on every active user is tens of thousands of dollars a month at scale.

Considering Paypal instead, which I realize has its own caveats and issues, but seems to be the middle ground that Stripe cannot/does not provide.

How did ya'll address this? Maybe I am missing something here.

Stripe standard is massive user friction, Stripe express is massive financial overheard

Hello all,

Relatively new to Stripe, but I've been integrating it into my application and testing onboarding. I tried implementing standard, but the user friction is enormous. I'm basically asking casual users/sellers to go through a 15 minute onboarding process that would be expected of a business.

Express is better but $2/month fees on every active user? That's tens of thousands of dollars a month at scale.

Considering PayPal instead, which has it's own issues and caveats, but seems much better for seller onboarding.

How did ya'll navigate this?

It’s a long story but I just had to call the police in a very tense fraught situation and my call did not go through once. No ring, nothing.

I had two bars of service.

Has anyone had this experience with Mint Mobile? Why on earth would it not go through?

I’ve been in more remote places where it’s SOS only with other service providers and have tried 911 to quickly test and it’s worked.

Luckily my neighbor was there and called when I asked her to. Wtf
