help/tips on clipping stream reactions
Hello everyone! I need some advice on streamlining my workflow.
I’ve been making reaction content for a while (mostly sports events such as soccer games and wrestling), but I’ve always done it offline. Up until now, it’s been super easy: I just record myself in OBS with my cam on top and the event feed capture at the bottom, and I just stop/start recording whenever a big moment happens to get my clips and post as fast as possible.
I want to do livestreams now, but I want to keep that "instant" clipping speed without having an editor, because I edit everything myself at least for the moment. I have a couple of specific hurdles:
- The Live vs. Clip Layout: When I'm live, I don't want to stream the actual event feed (to avoid copyright strikes ofc) I just want my audience to see my reaction. However, for the clips I post on social media, I DO want the event feed included below my camera.
- Speed: I want to be able to pull these clips during the stream so I can post them to X/Twitter or Reddit immediately after a big moment happens, rather than waiting for a 3-hour VOD to end and digging through it later.
How do you guys handle this? Is there a way to record a "hidden" source in the background for clips while the stream only sees my face? And how do you manage to save those moments manually while staying engaged with chat?
I'm trying to find the most efficient one-person setup possible. Any tips or plugin recommendations would be amazing. Thanks!
