The End Of The Pacin- I-I-I Mean Girlfriend…

The End Of The Girlfriend (Pacing)

The pacing of this current arc genuinely needs to be studied 😭

Rent a girlfriend has always been shitty when it comes to actual progress being made, but HOLY SHIT the studio made sure to drag the “kiss” for as long as they possibly can. I get it, Kazuya being exposed is the biggest twist and development the series has had since Chizuru’s grandmother dying. But them just standing in the same spot for 3 eps with pure flashbacks and repeating the same things is just ridiculous. They added a bunch of useless flashbacks, and Kazuya is even MORE unbearable in this season (I might make a post just about that, this season is Kazuya’s BIGGEST L yet). Kazuya has SOMEHOW managed to become even WORSE.

Back to the pacing issue, I finished ep 5 and Kazuya constantly going on about Mizuhara kissing him was the nail in the coffin for me. It’s so bad that it’s good. Idek how they managed to turn a genuinely engaging part of the story into a dragged out mess.

I lowkey wish Chizuru, Mami, and Ruka got into an actual fist fight. Ik that it would have came with the sacrifice of possibly having to write Mami out of the story, but still. It woulda been more interesting, it sucks to see Chizuru be so polite and formal to such a bitch like Mami. She suddenly becomes submissive and puts her tail between her legs when dealing with her. It rlly just highlights her insecurities cus she KNOWS Mami is right.

Anyways, what ya’ll think of the pacing. This rlly just proves the point I’ve always made that Rent a GF is the One Piece of romcoms. Both have many seasons, they’re one of the most popular anime in its specific genres, makes a lot of money, is treated well by the studios working on them, have strong fanbases. And now, another similarity that has become blatant in this current arc is the shitty pacing 😭. The only difference is that One Piece is more beloved, but holy hell.

Rent a GF really is an anomaly, I havent seen anything like it and it only continues to surprise me, whether in a positive or negative way 😭

What ya’ll think of this current season and it’s pacing?

I’m Going To Read EXACTLY 1/4 Of MHA

I dropped MHA, and I’ve been hating on it after watching only 8 eps, cus I just cant understand how the MC takes so long to finally gain control of his powers, and I didn’t get why side characters get so much shine placed on them instead. But yk what

Fuck the 3 ep rule. Some anime just take longer to get its footing. I used to hate on One Piece for its pacing, and dropped the series like, 3 times before liking it. (Imo One Piece gets good at Baratie arc). So I’mma give MHA the same treatment.

Now as I’ve said before, I’m going to read EXACTLY 1/4 of the series. If I dont like it, I’m going to make a slander post about it and complain about all the shit I hate about the series. (Fairly ofc, NO BIAS). And I’m gonna make it my MISSION to hate on the series. I’m also gonna ignore the community since I dont wanna be spoiled and I dont wanna see forced ships. So I’mma try to stay spoiler-free for the most part

If I like it, I’m going to eat my ass and admit that the series is actually good. And I’mma apologize for all the shit I said about it in regards to it sucking

The manga has 431 chapters as of now, so I’m going to read EXACTLY 107 chapters and 15 pages (and 3/4 of page 15). I’mma give it a fair chance and MORE than enough time to grasp me.

This is gonna be fun. I rlly hope I grow to like MHA, I wanna see what the hubbub is about and why ppl think its good. I heard that it gets good later on so I’mma see for myself

I love manga in general, so either way it’s gonna be fun. Maybe I’d even gain a new perspective

See ya’ll at chp 107 pg 15 (and 3/4) 🫡

I’m REALLY Curious To See How This Will Be Animated

Zuma’s umbrella powers are SO fucking cool. I’m curious to see how the movements will be animated as he repeatedly opens and encloses himself in the umbrella. I reckon it’d be like a lightning speed type of thing that would look similar to a modded character in a video game suddenly becoming broken and skipping all the wait times between their moves. Or maybe it will be a fluid like motion that has a certain flow to it, similar to a wave. (I’d prefer for the first option, it’d be a very unique watch for sure and matches the wacky, WTF vibe the show gives off)

These fights are so epic, I can’t wait to see this get animated. Unfortunately, I’m so far past the anime that I don’t see this happening until maybe 2-3 more years, if the yearly release schedule stays consistent 😭

Zuma is actually such a cool dude and is funny asf. He shattered my expectations of how he will act, I thought him to be the more serious, “rough around the edges” type due to the images I’ve seen of him and the type of school he goes to. But he’s just a goofy, chill dude. Him and Momo have GREAT synergy as well. However, I hope that he grows past the 2 moves thing. It’s similar to Okarun’s all-out, but seems to run for a shorter time. It’s always cool to witness his powers, but all of it will happen just for a moment

Btw:

The umbrella yokai and powers we see here is inspired from the yokai Kasa-Obake, which comes from the rumor that if an object has been abandoned and uncared for for over 100 yrs, it will grow a soul and come back to life. Apparently, these yokai are just mischievous beings who’d jumpscare you or mess up your house. But ig they tend to be harmless otherwise. SO FUCKIN COOL, I can tell the author is HUGE into Japanese and Western folklore and culture. If Tatsu continues like this, I can see this series running for a VERY long time, having hundreds of chapters. This guy can become the next Oda, as he seems to NEVER run out of fresh, unique ideas and references

Anyways, ramble over, lol😭

Um, Netflix…

Was this an animation error, or something on Netflix’ end?

I can read Hiragana. That says (Hai), which means “Yes”

But Netflix’ captions says “No”

Am I bugging 😭

Honestly, this is the biggest twist so far in the rent a gf anime

EVERYONE knows…

Kibe: I predict that this will cause issues in Kazuya and Kibe’s relationship especially when it comes to trust, because Kibe had had MULTIPLE talks with him in the beginning about how Kazuya can talk to him if he needs help and even had a whole fist fight with him about how he treated his girl where he tried to give him a life lesson. How can you trust a friend that has lied to you for over a year and doesn’t even trust you or feel close enough to you to tell you what he’s going through? They’ve been childhood friends and is basically family to Kazuya and his grandmother. Kibe will be massively dissapointed in Kazuya and will stop talking to him. Most likely not forever, but at least for a while

Kuri: He already knows

Mami: Same as always. She’s actually HAPPY that the secret came out. She wouldn’t rlly have much business with Chizuru anymore. I haven’t read the cohabitation arc but she prob wouldnt be able to stir up trouble between Kazu and Chizu, because she has already completed her mission. She’d have no real leverage to stand on

Ruka: She was shocked in the moment, but she’ll be the same as always. She may even be happy, as she can now assert her position as Kazuya’s girlfriend and will most likely make use of that later

Kazuya’s Mom: I already know that she is MASSIVELY disappointed in Kazuya, as she wants the best for her son. I haven’t seen too much of her to know how she’d react, but I reckon she’d be more dissapointed for Kazuya rather than straight up angry. She seems to be very chill and graceful, but with a hidden side to her. I just dont know for sure

Kazuya’s Father: This is REALLY bad, because Kazuya has been using his family’s money to pay for a rental girlfriend instead of using it to save and help pay his living expenses. That one manga moment that was skipped in the anime of him punching Kazuya in the face, because he thought that Kazuya was taking handouts from his girlfriend when he was in fact paying HER. I genuinely wouldnt be surprised if he punches Kazuya in the face in front of everybody there, given he’s shown no problem with punching the lessons into Kazuya. Either that, or he’ll be so dissapointed in him and feel so disrespected that he’d just have nothing to say and regret all the decisions he’s made in life, lol

Nagomi: All I have to say about this is. HOLY. SHIT. All this time, she’s been obsessed with Chizuru and instantly grew attached to her, seeing her as her granddaughter in law. I honestly dont know if she’ll forgive him OR her for lying for over a year and a half. Ofc, its still rent a gf and Kazuya would find his way to weasel out of the situation by pure luck somehow. And since the dynamics dont change much between characters in the series so far, she’d probably forgive him. But damn, I wonder how she’s gonna see Chizuru. She’s trusted her for so long and has been the most vulnerable to her. Nagomi’s reaction was the biggest of all, and I actually kinda feel bad for her. Even though she’s a bit of an ass to Kazuya, she just wants the best for her grandson and she’ll be massively disappointed that he’s betrayed her trust, and would probably lose faith in him in the future

Overall, I feel like Kazuya’s parents and Kibe was hurt. However, Kibe and Nagomi were hurt the most. I honestly didnt see this coming in the series. This is what the whole show has led up to

(I’m 7 mins into the episode, but these are the predictions I have for what would happen later in the episode, and for the story in general. Most of these predictions I made BEFORE watching the episode.)
