Hey guys,
I’ve posted here before a couple years ago (when I was around 24–25), and now I’m 26 turning 27. I’ve been dealing with hair loss since about 20. It wasn’t too bad at first, but I didn’t take it seriously early on and didn’t start treatment until later.
From around 23–25, I was using topical finasteride and minoxidil. Then from mid-2024 until September 2025, I switched to topical fin only + 2.5mg oral minoxidil.
Since around September 2025, I’ve been on:
- 0.5mg oral finasteride daily
- 2.5mg oral minoxidil daily
I’ve been very consistent — maybe missed 1–2 days max.
Lately though, I feel like my hair is still getting worse. I’ve also been working out more, cleaning up my diet, and walking ~10k steps daily trying to improve overall health and hopefully see better results, but I’m not noticing improvement hair-wise.
At this point, I’m starting to think it might be time to consider a hair transplant. I’m willing to spend up to $20k if it means getting a good result.
All those pics are taken after a run, so my hair is sweaty, so I can see it in its worst state

- Questions:
- Does it sound like I’ve given meds enough time / am I on the right protocol?
- Is it too early to jump into a transplant?
- Any clinic recommendations?
- How many grafts do u guys think I need?
Side note, I want to get an HT before the end of the year. I understand the importance of meds, but I'm not trying to wait another year to see the results of what med will do, and I'm ok with getting 2 HT if its the case in the future
Appreciate any advice 🙏
