Hello everyone,

I’m sharing with you my 3rd video in a small series I’ve been making about Turtle WoW and my Classic+ experience. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since Vanilla and have quite a lot of time in the game. :)

As many of you probably know, the Turtle WoW server is shutting down in less than 10 days. I decided to put together these videos to show my experience from the past 10 months on the server.

I genuinely enjoyed my time there and it became a kind of “home” server for me. With the discussion around Classic+ becoming more active in the WoW community, I hope these videos can offer some personal perspective on that idea as well.

In the video, I go through a run of Turtle WoW’s version of Black Morass and share my impressions and thoughts on it.

I’ve also uploaded two earlier videos in the series if anyone is interested in seeing the rest of the journey.

I’m still pretty new to making YouTube content, so I know there are a lot of things I can improve on. I just hope people enjoy it, and I’m genuinely open to any feedback.

I will upload a few more videos since I still have some footage left. I only started recording after the shutdown announcement, so I don’t have much raiding content, even though I had almost completed the PvE side.

Still, I hope it can give some insight into the experience overall.

After spending around 10 months on Turtle WoW, I’ve been going through its custom content to see how close it really gets to a “Classic+” experience.

I ended up splitting the coverage into two videos because there’s quite a lot to go through, and I didn’t want to cram everything into one long upload.

Part 1 – Overall experience

In the first video, I talk about my general experience on the server after extended playtime - how it feels compared to regular Vanilla WoW, and how Turtle WoW’s design philosophy changes the overall gameplay loop.

Part 2 – Custom dungeon (Hateforge Quarry)

The second video focuses on actual content: a full run through Hateforge Quarry, one of Turtle WoW’s custom dungeons in the Burning Steppes.

I go over:

  • layout and pacing
  • boss encounters and mechanics
  • loot design and itemization
  • and how “Vanilla-like” the experience feels in practice

What stood out most is how naturally it fits into the world - if you didn’t know it was custom content, it could easily pass as something that existed in original WoW.

I also briefly touch on the current server situation, since population has dropped heavily after the shutdown announcement, which changes the experience quite a bit right now.

If anyone here has played Turtle WoW, I’d be interested to hear how your experience compares - especially with the custom dungeons or at-level runs.

I also have more footage and ideas for future videos covering other Turtle WoW content and how it expands on the Classic+ concept. If there’s interest, I’ll keep digging into it.
