I don’t think this is a first time issue here, but I kinda feel like crap. My team recently hired a manager externally from banking - he initially was a bit unprofessional and I let it pass trying to keep the peace and work through my job. However now after working with him for one year, things have only gotten worse.
- He creates success criteria on the fly and is setting me up for failure
- Is annoyed if I receive any positive visibility
- I have a good relationship with my skip (senior director) and he doesn’t like it
- He’s also very unpredictable and I’m starting to document everything to protect myself, yet I can’t always call him out with the fear of more retaliation
It’s making me doubt my own capabilities and I’m surely feeling burnt out, because more than work I am managing emotions of a man child.
I’m actively looking for a role change internally, does anyone have any good advice?
