In my country (South Africa) you can get your medication from public hospitals/clinics for free. Going this route is not easy because you're seen by different people every time. Today I went for my follow up after taking the medication for the first time in March, I met a young psychiatrist who told me that there is no way my medication doesn't work when I'm on my period, she also told me that medication isn't supposed to help with like "the voices in ur head or the music", she also told me that medication isn't going to help with mood or anything. She was very condescending, what annoyed me was that the medication definitely worked super well only on the day of ovulation, I finally got the quiet head ppl talk about and my symptoms were thoroughly reduced, but on my period week & few days before, the medication was practically useless (I do have endometriosis btw).
I guess I'm venting, I feel privileged to receive medication technically for free but people who administer them do worry me, I even gave up on trying to find what works for me, I'll just take whatever they give:(
