Prenot@mi website blocked..? And was anyone able to secure a visa appoinment in LA

I have been trying to get an appointment for italy for over 2 months now, and had no luck whatsoever. I have a conference in Italy in july and have no hopes at this point. While being a crappy website as it is, for the last couple of days, it was not even letting me log in to the website. And when i tried to change my password, it showed my that 'account is blocked'. I never used any crazy chrome extentions although I am not surprised that it happened, because I've been trying to way too long, clicking way too many buttons to try to get a slot. I have emailed the italian consulate of LA regarding this. Some people on this platform told me that emailing them usually works, althought I have very little hope from LA consulate. Coming to my second question, did anyone living in LA got any luck getting an appointment? I tried all the tricks, logged in before 3pm PST, get OTP from the italy passport page. Still, when the page would load, and I fill in all te details and the OTP and hit next, it would load again and show me 'all appointments are booked'. Is it just me or is someone else also experiencing the same issue? Has anyone emailed LA consulated asking for slots and actually got them? I have heard this works sometimes, but not for me.
Also, has anyone ever used a travel agent to get their visa appoinments, especially for Italy. Are they reliable and do they actually work?
Please help me out guys!! I would really appreciate it.
