Aftermarket Mk8.5 Euro Taillights on Mk8.5 NA Golf R
I bought a set of MK8.5 aftermarket lights off Facebook MP from a guy who resells off Ali. It was just over CAD$500 for everything.
I test fit the new lights to check the harnesses and I was able to get the lights to work as expected (startup sequence, dynamic indicators). Overall it looks way less complex than some of the retrofit videos on YT with just 2 wires running from inside to outside (although with connectors on both ends so may be painful to route later).
I have a set of 2 unused adapters (maybe for Euro 8-pin oem connector) and a grey wire off the outside light that are not connected yet. Is that to keep the brake lights on while turn indicators are on? If I can figure this out, I'll try actually removing panels and installing them. The grey wire just ends without a pin or connector. I'm guessing it needs to go to the 3rd brake light or +12V supply?
