Career guidance - Junior Engineer

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some career guidance in chip design. I have a Master degree where I studied mixed signal , analog , digital and rf design in 4 months and the other 4 months were for internship. I believe I do not have strong fundamentals in any of the mentioned topics because the course was so short. Then I did my internship for AMS verification , it was okay but I realised digital electronics is not for me and I am not good at coding .

Analog design is too tough for me and I don't have any experience outside the classroom.

At the moment I am doing layout , cell characterization and digital circuit design on transistor level. I find this interesting and want to dive deeper to get into analog layout.

The problem is as a junior I do not have much opportunity to grow and learn at the present company and just have to do repetitive tasks and what my manager wants. I am lost, looking for some guidance into which direction to go. I was hoping to learn about physical implementation as well but no opportunity at work for that.

If I loose this job or decide to leave it , I will have nothing after. Right now I have been working for 1.5 years. I keep on stressing because I don't have a clear direction given my interests. If you have any suggestions or tips please let me know.

At this point I was also considering to pivot to other career options.

( I work in France)
