Hi everyone. I have SMA syndrome and recently had a duodenojejunostomy.

Did anyone else have a strong pulsating feeling in the upper abdomen before surgery — like a very strong transmitted aortic pulse or a “pulsating mass” sensation? My doctors ruled out serious aortic problems, so I’m wondering if this can happen from a dilated/stretched duodenum transmitting the aortic/SMA pulsation.

For those who had duodenojejunostomy, did this pulsating sensation improve after surgery? If so, how long did it take? Did it improve along with less fullness, gas, post-meal pressure, or duodenal dilation?

Just looking for personal experiences, not medical advice.
