Ruptured tumor in my senior dog

I have a 16.5 yr old dog who has a ruptured tumor in between his eyes, along forehead I think. It is oozing with pus and was infested with maggots but were removed through dressing. I previously went to his vet and consulted another vet. Both of them told me that chemo and surgery are no longer an option (asked them several times but their answer stayed the same). He's currently prescribed with antibiotics. My family had a conversation over the phone and my siblings agreed to have him put to rest. My mom and I doesn't want to because he's still active and eating. I visited those 2 vets yesterday and both of them said that as long as my dog is still eating and active then he should still be good and have hia tumor treated and dressed daily which we have been doing for years now. I was thinking of getting a 3rd opinion and have tests done since the 2 vets didn't made biopsy. (they just looked at the nature of the ruptured tumor and CBC). I talked to my dog that if he's tired and in pain he can just go and rest anytime. But guess what, tinalikuran lang ako 😭 Although I'm not sure if he understood it kase bingi na sya. Anyone who has almost similar experience with this and advice too?
