[Complete] [127k] [Fantasy] Tytan
Hi!
I'm looking for a beta-reader for my first attempt at a series of novels. The first, Tytan, is 127,000 words.
The story follows three characters in a world where rival kings, religions and factions are caught in a deadly romance. Hundreds of years ago, powerful heroes kept the people safe, but their peaceful world has been broken. Their descendants have been hunted into near extinction by the crown and sceptre of those that now rule the land. The three protagonists; a refugee, a recluse and a lord, carve their path through this chaos, discovering their destinies along the way.
It's a bit of a love letter to high/epic fantasy, with a lot of inspiration from the stories I loved as a kid. I've always loved fantasy with subtle magic, so no elves or dragons here I'm afraid. It's more about the men and women who survive in this land, and the tiniest chance that they harbour the power and strength of their ancestors. There's a running theme of generational trauma, where I really try to have the reader search for answers and unravel the secrets of the past, while navigating the action of the present.
