Told my client I quit and now they won't respond

I think my Upwork client is ignoring me after I told them I quit.

I messaged my client through Upwork on tuesday afternoon telling them I wanted to quit. They didn't reply on wednesday, so yesterday around 2pm I also texted them on whatsapp since we mostly communicate there.

Still no response and honestly I'm getting stressed. I need to leave this job, but I also don't want to just disappear cause' it feels unprofessional. They also have a product launch coming up and a lot depends on the work I do.

What would you do in this situation?

Redoing this walkway because weeds keep growing. Any suggestions to prevent weeds underneath?

We made this walkway about a year ago and used landscaping fabric underneath, but I think it was too thin or just low quality because weeds keep growing through it and it's so annoying.

The second picture is just for reference so you can see there's a slight slope toward the house in case that matters when redoing it. We're considering either pouring concrete underneath and placing the stepping stones and decorative gravel directly on top, or using a 5 oz heavy duty weed barrier under everything instead.

What would you recommend in this situation?

Also, the water doesn't run directly toward the foundation when it rains. It mostly drains into the mulch bed before reaching the house.
