Hi everyone,
I'm struggling to get audio working on my Chuwi HeroBook Pro (Intel Celeron N4020 / Gemini Lake) running Zorin OS 18.
The Problem: I've gone from "stuttering audio" to "Dummy Output" and sometimes no output device detected at all.
Hardware Details:
- Audio Chip: ES8336 (ESSX8336)
- CPU: Intel Celeron N4020
- DSP Driver: snd_sof_pci_intel_apl
What I've tried so far:
- Set
options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=3in modprobe. - Tried different quirks for
snd_soc_sof_es8336(quirk=0x01 and quirk=0x04). - Verified firmware: The system looks for
sof-glk-es8336-ssp2.tplgbut I suspect there's a mismatch or missing topology file. dmesgshows:ASoC: Parent card not yet available, widget card binding deferred.- Alsamixer shows the card when it's not in "Dummy Output", but even with everything unmuted, there's no sound.
Current Status: I'm currently stuck on "Dummy Output". I've updated initramfs after every change.
Is there a specific UCM configuration or a kernel parameter I'm missing for this specific laptop? Any help would be appreciated before I consider moving back to Windows.
Thanks!
