UK England Insta360 Return Experience — Asked to Ship Product to Hong Kong at My Own Expense (£35+) for Refund

Title: UK customer being asked to return Insta360 product to Hong Kong at my own expense (£35+) — is this normal?

I ordered directly from Insta360’s official UK-facing website and recently decided to return the product because I wasn’t satisfied with the overall performance after briefly testing it indoors.

The product is completely undamaged and in excellent condition, but what shocked me was the return process.

Even though:

  • I ordered from a UK-targeted store,
  • paid in GBP,
  • and received delivery in the UK,

Insta360 support told me I have to return the product to Hong Kong at my own expense.

The shipping cost was over £35, which honestly feels unreasonable for a normal consumer return. After multiple emails, they offered to cover only half the cost, so I’d still need to pay around £17.5 myself.

Support has been polite, but the process feels designed to discourage returns for UK customers.

Has anyone else in the UK experienced this with Insta360?
Did you:

  • pay the shipping,
  • get a prepaid label,
  • receive full reimbursement,
  • or escalate through PayPal/credit card?

Would appreciate hearing other experiences before I proceed further.
