What does your dream action-cam/vlogging setup look like?
Someone was asking about capturing the aurora with the Insta360. I just got it a couple of weeks ago and find that interval mode is much better than timelapse or starlapse in getting good footage. I live close to city lights, so this would be much better in the middle of nowhere. The advantage of this camera is I can put it out all night on a battery pack and then review the entire night, and entire sky for auroras.
Got out of the office, grabbed a drink, took a walk, brought the cam.
Bortle Scale 3 and 3hrs of shooting. (I forgot to charge the camera and started it at 54% ☹️)
Settings:
•72MP, 3s intervals
•20 seconds shutter speed
•1000 ISO
•5000K white balance
A few colour adjustments using the Insta360 program after merging the images.
From what I've seen, the replacement is an easy task. I just want to make sure I'm getting good quality lenses at a fair price.
I ran a Go 3s this weekend at a competition. I solely utilized the quick capture function, quick tapping it before each round started. I had previously confirmed it worked. It only recorded a handful of rounds in the morning, and then my footage from the rest of the day is gone. Anyone ever encountered this before?
Trying to find out if this can be repaired. If yes then where can i get the parts??
I read using the floating grip is not the best idea. Please recommend what's a good alternative for diving?
Sounds like two trims of the Luna, a single lens version and a dual lens version. It’ll shoot 10 bit, and the dual lens version (I’m assuming it’s called the Luna Ultra) will have more than just two focal lengths.
**MicroSD card for Insta360 X5 (same requirements as X4/X3!)**
The X5 has the exact same MicroSD needs as the X4/X3.
However the X5 pushes the limits from 8k and other features, so getting the premium versions of cards are the best way to go.
I use **SanDisk Extreme/Pro** or **Samsung PRO Plus** for their build quality, reliability in tough action/extreme conditions, and consistent speeds (cheaper/fake cards often fail here).
**Key specs to look for:**
- **UHS-I only** — UHS-II/III cards are incompatible and can cause recording failures
- **V30 or higher** (V30 minimum for smooth 8K; Pro versions with higher sustained write speeds perform better long-term)
- **Max 1TB** — Larger cards aren't supported/recommended
**Quick tips:**
- 512GB is the sweet spot for most users (great balance of capacity & manageability)- this is the one I mostly use
- Buy from reputable sellers (e.g. “Ships from & sold by Amazon”) to avoid counterfeits
- These cards work perfectly for 8K 30fps without dropped frames or corruption

- Is the display in the 360 supposed to look grainy and orange colored?
- when I try to view the videos on the insta360 it is very choppy and seems like it has to be connected to its own x3 "wifi"?
- when I send the video to my iphone, it is no longer choppy but still has a 360 logo on the video, does it always have this?

Used to love this Insta 360 link but now nothing but despair now, it never says its location, I run a business and have a fair few video meetings, standing desk means I have a few presents to save camera positions, having to setup each time is a nightmare and just puts me off using it.
Tried updating camera and software, uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed.
Anyone else having this issues with the Insta 360 link webcam not saving Scene Presets

Is there still no solution for the problem of not being able to preview during recording on the remote control? I've been waiting for months and no update has fixed it...
Turning off the Adaptive Tone feature to be able to preview is not a solution!!!
Here is my recent experience returning an unopened order to Insta360. If you are buying from them in Canada, watch out for undisclosed fees.
• The Setup: I tried to cancel my order before it shipped. They shipped it anyway, but their support team promised a "full refund" if I returned the package completely unopened.
• Return Shipping Refusal: Initially, they told me I had to pay for return shipping, and later tried to make me pay 50% to ship it back to Hong Kong. They actually have a return facility in Markham, Ontario. I had to cite the Ontario Consumer Protection Act regarding undisclosed fees at checkout before they finally provided a prepaid FedEx label.
• The Withheld Taxes: I dropped off the unopened package. They refunded the base product cost ($764.99 CAD) but kept the $99.45 CAD that was charged for GST/import tax.
• The Excuse: They claimed their secondary "sales policy" states import taxes are non-refundable. This condition was never disclosed during the checkout process, and contradicted their written promise of a "full refund."
• The Result: I am now filing a partial chargeback with my credit card for the withheld $99.45.
TL;DR: Insta360 will try to make you pay for return shipping and will withhold taxes on unopened returns using hidden policies. Document all your emails and use your local consumer protection laws to fight back.

How’s everyone liking the new close up lens ?
I’m looking at getting a 360 camera but can’t decide between the Insta360 X5, GoPro Max2, or DJI Osmo 360. I care more about durability than video quality; ideally something where the footage can be recovered after a 250+ MPH impact and/or fire. Does anyone have any suggestions?
