I have run into a serious problem with my Instagram account. This Instagram account is going to be used for posting talking head reels as a journalist. I created the account & username 3 years ago when I first had the idea to do this, but left it dormant until now as I’ve finally decided to go through with the idea. I did not post follow or like / comment at all during these 3 years.
2 weeks ago I made the first post (canva template saying coming soon) and added a logo pfp, alongside making the account a business account so it could say “journalist”. I planned to start posting my reels tomorrow.
Then I got this notification
“We've restricted your business”.
“It looks like this account was created or used with an automation that doesn't follow our rules.
This goes against our Advertising Standards on account integrity.”
I asked AI and they said my account will be deleted by meta in 180 days if I don’t appeal. Is this true?
What should I do? Shall I start posting my talking head reels now and then appeal? Does the restriction just relate to running ads? I’m really worried because I really need Instagram for my journalism and don’t want to have my account deleted.
