be prepared for some real effort and passion about two of my favorite subjects at the moment. My real hope is that this leads people to publish more physical books in this community. A little bit of my background here is I’ve worked with over 3000 self published authors. I worked for the top self publishing company in the USA for close to a decade. My role was teaching authors how to sell books and selling them their own books. I worked with the kash patels of the literary world and most of them had the same level of charisma. If I have learned anything it’s that you need to learn how to navigate both traditional media methods and online media methods to be successful in the future. One of these that people forget that has been around for 500 years and what the online Right learned way faster than the online left has learned is that being called an author of any kind has some deep rooted meaning in our culture and has been around for centuries. Publishing is so much easier now for the first time since the printing press has been invented that it’s basically free on Amazon. Some like Kash take the easy path there, I mean as an author he has sold more books than destiny has ever sold and it unfortunately does mean something at the end of the day. You can draw a long line from him publishing to the FBI.
The D man has a resume issue. I worked with a ton of people that used this as a resume builder with no intention of becoming a prolific author with massive book sales. It’s a career that dates back 100s of years. Like a doctor, culturally we have always put being an author on a pedestal of knowledge and trust even when they are wrong or write children’s books.
when I look at Destiny’s career I can make an argument that him not publishing his manifestos or anything by any traditional means has hurt his career more than his current issues with the court stuff. It’s actively slowing his career and growth in my opinion. I think it’s what is really hampered a lot of careers in the left leaning spaces and the big difference between Ben and Destiny is Ben Shapiro self publishes his own dumb books and has footings with old media and new media as a result. It’s less about the quality and more about having people call you an author that it brings with it 500+ years of trust and authority. Where being a YouTuber doesn’t hit the same.
It’s criminal that destiny hasn’t even published a coloring book given the size of his community so that these traditional media(tv,radio,newspapers) will take him seriously. Maybe 100 years into the future we won’t have to do this but we are not there. Being a YouTuber does nothing for the resume now; it does nothing for older generations that use old media and frankly might not even with stand the test of time. Radio sure hasn’t, and live streaming might be more like today’s version of radio star than being a television star. I’m almost at the point of taking his notes he has published and publishing under his name for him because he has already done more writing and research than 85% of the 3000 authors I’ve worked with.
So that’s my argument. Would love to chat with Destiny or anyone else that has questions about self publishing or publishing books in general. It’s not something I do anymore but still something I’m very passionate about and one last thing to think about is You guys are all going to be really upset when Hasen get a ghost writer and figures out this century old trick and is a New York Times best selling author and twitch streamer. In that order. So let’s all pressure him together so that we don’t have to listen to those streams. It’s the surest bet I can make if I knew how to start a bet on prediction markets.

My book is about how baby boomers/ and I want to include gen x much like the generation that lived through the printing press really struggled with adapting to this new age of expression/information and publishing and as a result will be known as the worst generation of Americans to ever exist. Much like the internet there are unwritten rules that authors follow when writing fiction and non fiction. There are laws and it’s governed differently all over the place but it took a long time for them to get there. Lots of violence along the way. My hope is by pointing out we are up against the same thing that maybe we can make better choices. So instead of a left vs right problem I think we have a generational issue in our country. Our king Biden will be the last American president to be elected to not understand how to navigate those two worlds successfully. If you ask me it’s what killed Kamala and what kills Jeffries, maybe even make an argument for Hilary. They all at times have come off as cringy which is an unwritten rule of the internet. Trump and his team navigated that world very well until recently. The next president elected will be able to navigate both the traditional media world and this world we’ve created online without coming off as cringy or breaking unwritten rules that we all know are there and some change over time.
So I sit down take pictures and interview boomers and get their opinions on why they think they are not the worst generation. what lead me to this project was sitting down with trump supporters and doing the same thing. much like destiny and some others out there debating them have all realized, is most of them have gone silent in the last year. One thing I have noticed while working on both projects is once they realized I wasn’t arguing from a left right perspective of blame but that it’s a generational problem. the conversation started to get a lot more engaging and productive compared to the same boring conversations about Biden and democrats being bad or Obama being bad. My argument is I they are allllllllllll bad. Every single one of them. I don’t think they did this from a place of malice but change they couldn’t understand and like every generation that experienced an information revolution they all clung to power and destroyed themselves on the way out.
