Not much of a poster, but I got out to vote in the local Oregon elections today. I wanted to take and share this picture because this is the first time my mom has ever voted, and it's quite the morale boost. Turns out my sister also voted for the first time, but couldn't get her included in the picture

Anyway, 2024 was quite blackpilling for me after trump won. No one else in my family voted except my grandparents, who voted trump. In case people are blackpilled like me, please remember you can get people to vote. This is only a local election, but big changes will only happen when people are convinced voting matters

And people can be convinced, and need to be convinced at this point. It takes time and effort even for just one person, but this has given me a shit ton of confidence that an average person like me can get others to vote. This needs to happen if we want to save our democracy. It's on us average people to vote, and speak to non voters about why they should vote

Politics can be quite taboo to speak with people, but we need to now. There's no more hiding where this country is heading. There's no more time to wait to speak to people. Whether it's local, midterms, or presidential elections I hope people take some confidence that they're able to convince people. I ain't special, but I love my country enough to speak with others about voting to save it's democracy

I also love Destiny, but I (and all of us) can't rely on Destiny to convince people to vote. This is on us now, and I want people to be confident they can get others to vote even if it's hard or takes longer than we'd like. Sorry for such a wall of text, just having my mom and sister vote for the first time fills me with hope, and I wanted to share that with everyone in the community. The more of us that we can get voting the more likely a blue wave happens. It's shrimpleas
