Lack of English speaking server in NA
I’m a middle-aged dude and I enjoy dropping money on skins and getting (almost) everything on in game events. Why not. I’d like to think I’m the kind of customer Riot wants. I help keep the game free for everyone else and realize how fortunate I am 25 years into my career.
That said, I am absolutely burned out with the lack of a US/Canada (ENGLISH speaking) server. Every game, every day, almost every person I interact with only speaks Spanish on NA1. And I hate to generalize, but I see atrocious, mind-bogglingly piss poor behavior from these players in 95% of games. Intentional throwing after a single death, a refusal to buy items and play normally, name calling, refusing to help, insane picks that make no sense…it’s like they’re in a different world. It’s a different game culture, even compared to the often toxic and problematic culture of WR/LOL.
I’m only a Diamond player, usually support, who gets S/A in 2/3 of my matches and consistently SVPs…and I’ve lost 17 of the last 20 matches. I typically have 1 or 2 players who seem dedicated to burning my experience to the ground while “Jajajajajhajaa’ ing all the way to our Defeat.
I love(d) this game. I’m a busy guy with work and family and do my best to support this title and used to really look forward to little breaks where I could squeeze a match in. But I have to say, if Riot doesn’t get an English speaking server for NA soon, I’m hanging it up. I don’t frequent forums so not sure if this is anyone else’s experience.
