So I was ban evading on an alt and joined a server I have never joined before on my main to confuse the discord ai. The moment I joined the server I got banned for ban evasion. How did that happen?

I saw some comments saying they created a new account and nothing happened. But other times I saw very paranoid things such as not adding your old friends or mentioning your old username. Which one is true? I created a new account and added 2 old friends, and discord immediately asked me for a phone verify. I didn't get banned still and it's been days. Although I can't verify phone obviously.
