Hey everyone, I just wanted to get some advice on what to do.
My mom recently got a parking ticket at my school during a really quick pickup. She’s new to the campus and didn’t realize the parking system requires using a QR code/mobile payment. She just pulled in briefly to pick me up and use the restroom.
I actually called her at 5:46 PM when she was arriving, and the ticket was issued at 6:04 PM, so she was only there for under 20 minutes.
We definitely weren’t trying to avoid paying—it was just an honest mistake since she wasn’t familiar with how the parking works yet. We’ve looked into the rules now so it won’t happen again.
I submitted an appeal as soon as we got the ticket, but I’m not sure if I should wait for the decision or just pay it now to avoid any possible late fees.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or have advice on what usually works better?
