Advice on My Self Study Plan

Hello, I (28M) am about to take the ACCA plunge. I work full time as a middle manager in a UK Civil Service finance department. Planning on self studying. Turning to this sub for advice if you would kindly spare the time.

I've done a lot of research and am looking one section at a time, starting with Applied Knowledge, aiming at 3 month study blocks.

What I would really like to know is what people think about self study using just the OpenTuition youtube videos, and the ACCA study hub. I was planning on going with BPP/Kaplan books but heard they may no longer be accredited by ACCA? My questions are:

  1. Can I pass with these resources?

  2. Will I gain real understanding?

  3. Are Kaplan/BPP no longer worthwhile?

I don't want to just pass, I want to know what I am talking about.

Please let me know what you think!

Thanks all.
