Hi,

First message on reddit and I thank you in advance for your assistance. I apologize if I am sometimes confusing, I'm not a native speaker.

So, I use Outlook on Android and I reveived earlier this day a connection request on my outlook application that came from Canada (where I do not live) and from a Windows device (so it can't be a bug from my device since I am on Android). I of course denied the connection but some things get me worried. That someone made a connection attempt to my account is not strange in and of itself in these times with all the bots and data leaks but this notification itself was strange. First, it only occured on the Outlook app (which I was on at the time) and I got no notification on the Authenticator app. Furthermore, this connection attempt does not appear on my "recent activity" tab on my account but the usage of the Outlook notification is registered in the "change your way of connexion or verification" tab (sorry if it is not like that in english, I tried a translation from my language) where all my way of authentification are registered and the one regarding the Outlook notification app shows use today.

So, is there a reason this connection attempt is not registered on my recent activity or that I did not get a notification on the authenticator app ? Could they have gotten my password ? That is what worries me the most because it is a unique and strong password and I don't know how they could have gotten it... I of course changed it just in case...

Is this pattern common ? Could someone juste have attempted connection to my account (may it be by mistake or with malicious intent) and the notification got sent on the Outlook app just because they entered my e-mail adress ? Would the attempt have been registered on the recent activity tab had they successfully entered the password (even if I denied the connection) ?

I thank you for your assistance and I apologize for the confusion in my message
