Our local Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez recently promoted on her social media channels that she spoke before a meeting of the American Forest Resources Council. For those that don’t know, the American Forest Resources Council is a trade association for the timber industry that actively lobbies for increased logging on public lands. Just the latest of many examples showing how MGP is completely in the pocket of the logging industry, I genuinely believe she is more aggressively pro-logging than even MAGA Joe Kent would have been. Which is not to say Joe Kent would not have been far worse overall, but if environmental conservation is a top issue for you I’m not sure we can find someone worse than MGP.

EDIT: Lots of downvotes so far. I get it, the logging industry is important around here. But what part of it is really important? The cutting down of the trees or the economic benefits? Obviously it’s the latter. So why not try something new? Instead of just rolling back regulations that will get put right back the next time the political winds shift, why not invest in creating economic opportunities in our rural communities that aren’t at the mercy of the ever shifting regulatory environment? Environmentalists aren’t going anywhere, maybe MGP should try to promote creating jobs in these communities that can benefit everyone and don’t piss off half the state population and maybe then those jobs will actually last.

I’ve always struggled to find official nutrition facts for Regal’s concession offerings but with some of the recent updates to order ahead in the app it seems that full nutrition facts are now available if you go to the ordering page for any concession item.

It’s certainly not a total surprise but it’s honestly still a bit shocking how many extra calories the butter topping adds. Yes, it is liquified “butter” product so I don’t think anyone expects it to be remotely healthy, but just ordering regular butter apparently triples the calorie count for a large popcorn from just under 1000 to nearly 3000. And for all you extra butter folks, that large popcorn is now a 5000 calorie bucket.

Anyway, just a little PSA for anyone who’s been looking for the nutrition info. I would have shared a link but the nutrition facts open directly in the app and I couldn’t find a page for it on the actual website.
