How to get the $9 RCC Combo?

Is there anything specific I have to say or do? Because today will be my third time trying to get this combo and each time something has been differently accounted for on my account. The first time, I think I messed up because I did a large drink and small popcorn, then the last time, I specifically got a small popcorn and a small drink and instead of doing the combo, it used my Birthday Popcorn reward which I wanted to use for a large popcorn when I went out with my partner later this week…

Long story short, I don’t know what to say or do to get the combo & I would love to know before I go in today. Also, anyone going to see anything they’re excited for today?

How much do you spend on Convenience Fees?

All the frequent movie goers, how much do you spend on convenience fees in a month? Or do most of you try to save money by booking your tickets at the box-office or kiosk?

Because if you are watching 20 movies in a month, that itself is $10, on top of your monthly subscription charges. What are your thoughts?

[Crosspost] Hi /r/movies :) We're Lucy Fry (lead actress) & Julie Pacino (writer-director) of the new horror-thriller I LIVE HERE NOW. You may also recognize Lucy from Vampire Academy, Bright, Godfather of Harlem, Wolf Creek, 11.22.63 & more. Ask us anything!

I organized an AMA/Q&A with actress Lucy Fry and writer-director Julie Pacino. Their new horror movie, I LIVE HERE NOW, premiered at Fantasia last year, had a theatrical run earlier this year, and is out now on digital.

You may also know Lucy from roles in films/TV including GODFATHER OF HARLEM, BRIGHT, 11.22.63, WOLF CREEK, VAMPIRE ACADEMY, MAKO: ISLAND OF SECRETS, NIGHT TEETH, and lots of other things.

It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1stib56/hi_rmovies_were_lucy_fry_lead_actress_julie/

They will be back at 4 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Synopsis: A woman finds herself trapped in a remote hotel where the violent echoes of her past come alive, blurring the lines between her darkest nightmares and the waking world.

I tracked the "best" seat in each auditorium of my local cinema

Have you ever noticed how the center-most seat on the map you select from when purchasing tickets often isn't actually the central seat in the auditorium? Or how wildly different the actual central seat can be from one auditorium to the next? I have, and it drove me nuts.

So, over a period of a few months, I figured out the center-most seat in each auditorium I visited, along with the second-closest seat (as no single seat is ever perfectly dead center) and kept a log. I made these determinations by counting the ceiling tiles directly above me.

As for which row is best, that's subjective, but my preference is the first row of the rear section, which is what the letter portions below represent. If you prefer to sit further back, the numbers transfer to other letters and remain central. (But if for some reason you like to sit in the front section, they don't transfer there. Those numbers are distinct.)

The log is now complete:

  • Auditorium 1: G11, G10
  • Auditorium 2: F9, F8
  • Auditorium 3: F7, F8
  • Auditorium 4: F10, F11
  • Auditorium 5: F9, F8
  • Auditorium 6: H10, H9
  • Auditorium 7: I10, I11
  • Auditorium 8: I13, I14
  • Auditorium 9: H10, H9
  • Auditorium 10: G9, G10
  • Auditorium 11: F9, F8
  • Auditorium 12: F7, F8
  • Auditorium 13: F11, F10
  • Auditorium 14: F9, F8
  • Auditorium 15: G8, G9
  • Auditorium 16: G10, G9

Now whenever I reserve a ticket, I just reference my cheat sheet and get the perfect seat every time with no guessing!

Obviously this particular mapping will only work if you're at my local Regal Cinema, which is the one in Bellingham, WA. If so, feel free to make use of it yourself! If not, feel free to take inspiration and start tracking your own local cinema.

Anyone else go to the Michael early access tonight?

As a MJ fan I really wish I had enjoyed it as some people in my audience did, but I thought it was pretty bad. Really poorly executed and quite boring. The way they skim over so much of his life to the most surface level biopic and ignore really important aspects of what made Michael such a inspirational figure in favor of mainly being about his daddy issues was so frustrating. At least the music sounded good in IMAX. Really curious what others thought?

What’s everyone’s favorite regal that they always go to and what makes it so special to you?

For me it’s personally Longston Place in Puyallup, WA. Growing up I was always a big movie head and I remember always going to this specific theater growing up as a kid and now since joining unlimited almost a year ago I tend to go there almost a few times a week now because of how great that atmosphere is and how fantastic the staff are to me as well and I’ve even started to get recognized by them a lot of the time now which is funny to me. I don’t think I’ll ever stop going to this theater anytime soon and I’m absolutely loving my unlimited subscription and also regal in general with most of the things they do!

What is that special regal to you guys and what makes you love it so much?

Anyone else ever walk into a hot boxed auditorium?

It was somewhat on point cause I was there to see This Is The End but still....

I ended up going to see it at a theater about 15 minutes away instead. I didn't think the auditorium would air out enough before the movie started.

Showtimes only after 4 pm?

I was going to go see Over Your Dead Body some point next week (or this week as it releases Friday) but every single day at my local regal the showtimes only start at 4 pm. I’ve never seen this before and I’m very confused by it. Is this normal? Or is it just that they haven’t filled in for all the extra showtimes yet because the movie is not in theaters right now?

Short answer is Yes.

But sometimes they error out and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

A Little Something Extra (French)

Scrolling through the available movies yesterday for something new to watch, I decided to read what this one was about. I was a little put off by the premise of an able-bodied criminal impersonates intellectually disabled person. I was intrigued enough to watch it though because it used non-professional actors from the disabled community and was described as a feel-good film with life lessons that became one of the highest grossing French films ever.

You can’t help but fall in love with the cast. They all did such a great job and you have fun seeing them enjoy life. There is also some beautiful mountain scenery to go along with it all. While the ending is mostly predictable, you still hope that certain things won’t come about.

If you have the chance, take the time to watch this one. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Repeat movies?

Hi! New here, I just got my regal unlimited after debating it for months - I’m excited to use it!😊 One question based on the welcome email:

The part that says “are different titles” does that mean you can’t repeat movies you’ve already seen? Not that I do that very often, but it happens on occasion. Let me know, thanks!

Snack Saver on Tuesdays

So now that I've discovered that Medium drinks work with Snack Saver, I've gotten that size the last couple of times I've been to see a movie. Today was the first time I've been on a Tuesday (aka half off popcorn day). I did my normal order...large popcorn and medium drink. But on the screen, I noticed that the total was higher than I expected. Based on my receipt, the promo that applied was the half off large popcorn and 10% off for the drink. In other words, not the Snack Saver. Had I gotten the large size instead, I imagine that the Snack Saver would've kicked in.

Before I go thinking that this is expected behavior, has anyone else experienced this or able to confirm it?

“ The seat is already selected”

Every available seat I try to take for the upcoming Phantom of the opera showing is giving me that error. I’ve never seen this before.

Is this common with movies that are this far out or under that special event?

I have not tried from the web browser.

Micheal early access is completely sold out. NBA Youngboy had such high demand that my theater added a second viewing which also completely sold out.
