Made a scene using "practical effects"

Using "practical effects" for a weird scene. The caveman cutout from Backrooms: Found Footage #3
Done in Garry's mod using a copy of the cutout I found in a Backrooms map, then used the NPCifier tool to "turn the model into" a fast zombie from Half-Life 2.
Used the VHS overlay in Garry's mod.
Map is RP_NYCity(night)

I damaged my original grate , and bought a replacement grate (Standard one for the Master Touch) - how much charcoal do I need to use to cook off the oils, chemicals?
Can I cook burgers on it right after I heat it up for a bit? Should I wipe it down after it cools before cooking on it?
Hate to waste a bunch of charcoal without grilling anything.
I will attempt to save the original and use it as well as a backup.
