My boys got pulled into this rabbit hole of AI-generated songs, stuff like BloxBoys and animated songs about mythical deep sea creatures, weird monsters, and random over-the-top kid lore. EL GRAND MAJA!! etc.
Eventually I showed them Suno and we started messing around with it together. At first it was just dumb fun. They would come up with ridiculous creature ideas, inside jokes, fake monsters, and nonsense song concepts, then we would turn them into tracks.
Then they started pestering me because they wanted to hear the songs on Alexa.
That sent me down a whole separate rabbit hole of figuring out how to get these songs onto Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, etc. I was not trying to “launch an artist” or anything. It was just a side project so the boys could ask Alexa to play their ridiculous AI creature songs.
Now we have this fake artist called DJ Lazerhead, which is basically AI-generated EDM / horror-electronic / novelty music built around family jokes, monsters, and kid chaos.
The funny part is that I somehow made one song for myself that I unironically listen to all the time. I grew up on early 2000s EDM, and this dumb “Choo-Goo Cha-Ga” style track hits that part of my brain in a way I can’t really explain. So the boys get their songs about absurd AI creatures, and I accidentally made myself a random banger.
I don’t really expect anything from it. It has just been a fun family side project, and honestly one of the more entertaining uses of AI music I’ve found because it turns kids’ imagination into something they can actually listen to later.
Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience with Suno and Ai-music with their kids.
