Will more tongue weight create stability issues? I have a full size truck and the trailer weighs around 2500-3000 pounds. My trailer has 1500 pound storage capacity. I’m not worried about my truck or trailer’s ability to handle the weight, but just the towing effects. I know you want more forward weight, hopefully I’m just overthinking.

My camper has a front storage rack welded to the frame. I’m looking to place a toolbox there, but am leaning more towards a contractor job box over a standard truck tool box. I like the simple squareness and durability of the job box, but they are made of steel and are heavier. I expect to have up to 500 pounds on the front end. The dealer’s listed hitch weight is 190 pounds from the factory.

Everything I’ve found online is more about the damage it can cause the vehicle and not the actual towing effects.
