Damage, no injuries.
Im and idiot... let's start from there.
I have skill, compound miter saw and used it to break down natural pecan wood into usable size for my smoker. It did not go well, and ended with the fence stop busted into thirds.
1: if this is the wrong tool, what is the right tool?
2: can you get parts for this type saw?
3: assuming I can repair the fence, should I replace the blade just because of the force that was applied to it?
