I've been taking a look at relocating to Charlotte from Salt Lake City. Lived in SLC for almost 9 years and just ready for a change of scenery. Charlotte's always been one of the top places on my list to move to.
I've spent the last couple of months applying for jobs with not much momentum yet. My experience is in the PR/comms field -- the last 4 years in state government, and a few years in sports prior to that. My goal would be to secure something by the end of this year ideally.
Aside from just applying and waiting for answers, do you have any recommendations for networking or making yourself stand out for opportunities while out of state?
I've listed "Relocating to Charlotte, NC" on my resume and in my cover letters. I've also emailed hiring managers directly if it's a job that I'm especially interested in. I know the market is rough, but I wanted to get some perspectives as to what networking approaches could work better.
