It really irritates me when people dismiss space related things because "They don't matter."
I know this is super specific, but I'm tired of people who look at space, the rockets, and related things and just go "why are we spending money on this? Why not fix the homeless or whatever". As if both can't be achieved.
It will never not piss me off that there are people who look into the night sky, and think nothing of it. "Hm that's cool, whatever."
People will just see the moon as a big rock in the sky or the stars as some dots, instead of the future for human kind or what comes after. How can you not be invested in something that's so vast, so terrifyingly captivating, so ancient that our relatively feeble minds can't comprehend.
"It doesn't matter." "Space is unimportant."- Short sighted, self centered mfs who can't look past their own lives.
Like people look at the moon as just a big rock in the sky. While they're not wrong, the moon is a big rock that was here before life itself was even a thing on this planet. Next time you look at the moon, think about the fact that you're looking at an object that for the most part has stayed the same for BILLIONS OF YEARS, you're looking at history, a story, and the future of humanity all at once. And that's just the moon, now imagine the universe.
How is that not captivating to ANYONE‽
It also has 1,400+ hp and almost half it's weight reduced so that helps too.
