Why do trans people not 'mode' more before transitioning?
So I've noticed a trend with some minority of people I know and see on trans/lgbtq spaces where people who already realized their trans and want to transition in the future don't really try to appear or style themselves for their true self before actually getting on HRT.
What I mean is when trans people hold off on actually changing their fashion and holding off until they get estrogen/testosteron.
And it just confuses me a bit honestly - because wouldn't you want to start changing yourself and try to look more feminine/masculine/etc while waiting to get on a specific hormone?
And of course I'm not talking about people who are in a dangerous place, community and literally can't do those things because of homophobia, transphobia, risk of attack and general danger.
I'm talking about people that CAN do those things and are in situations where it's safe to do or at least possible.
Like when I was discovering myself I would slowly incorporate more changes to my clothes, my style, how I take care of my body face and hair, grow out my hair, learn to shave, learn to paint my nails (even if I had to hide those things from my very homophobic household)
And I just couldn't imagine waiting to get approved on HRT to start doing those things
The main thing I can imagine is dysphoria and depression associated with your body pre hormone replacement so one gets dysphoric trying to look more like their gender but I'm wondering if there is more to it too
I dunno, do you get what I mean? It might just be a stupid question in the end it's just kind of a shower thought I had so I'm sorry if I'm coming off as insensitive or dumb here
