How do people make Mars water or sour jars without them exploding? 🤨

I am planning a sour jar that uses Mars water. As you probably know already, Mars water needs rusty iron nails as one of the ingredients. I also see people listing things like vinegar or lemon for it, especially when used for a sour jar or other baneful magic. Now, that is effectively a recipie for hydrogen gas, so my question is how are people making things like this and not having their jars explode? I would like this sour jar not to explode, and ideally I would like it to stay sealed for as long as possible.

Does anyone have any advice or tips from personal experience? It would be much appreciated! Thank you :)

Do sulfur or citric acid have any dangerous interactions to be aware of?

Hi, I'm not sure where else to ask this, so if I'm in the wrong place, just let me know where else might be better to ask! For context, I will be putting a variety of different items in a jar with water for something and I would like to make sure that nothing is going to explode or have dangerous reactions when combined. I am going to list every ingredient, with the ones I am wondering about most at the top:

  1. Sulfur

  2. Citric Acid

  3. Rusted iron

  4. Rusted steel (as well as non rusted steel)

  5. A small mirror

  6. Foxglove seeds

  7. Poppy seeds

  8. Dried hot peppers

  9. Ghost pepper extract (ghost pepper and 80 proof alcohol)

  10. Water

  11. Paper written on with pen or marker.

It will all be in a glass jar and it will not be exposed to light.

I am aware that this is an extremely odd question, but I would really appreciate any input because I would like to make sure that I am not planning to combine anything that could combust when combined with everything else!

Thanks in advance!!
