I am 6.5 days post-op on neck/chin lipo and I felt prepared for the swelling and experience of “oh it’s great right after, oh no it’s swollen and looks the same/worse,” but I feel like my swelling was delayed?
I know swelling will be something that fluctuates and exists for weeks, but everything I’ve seen online indicates the worst swelling (of the first couple weeks) at about 3 days post op and noticeably subsiding at least some by a week. I however had minimal swelling days 3-4 and it really only became swollen the morning of day 5 and has worsened today, day 6. I’m wearing my chin strap as instructed, sleeping elevated, etc.
I know lots of people are still swollen on days 5/6, but did anyone experience the swelling not really even take off until then? I’m seeing my doc for a post-op appointment in a day; just trying to get input so as to not work myself up too much in the intervening 24 hours lol.
