How did you remove the thread protector from the M&P22X?

I’ve tried using the provided wrench and my own pliers, but I’m still having trouble. I suspect that S&W used a thread locker that’s practically impossible to remove.

I’ve been searching for a SA-only S2. Recently, I bought one from a local private seller. The trigger is quite light, and I like it, but I’m curious to know the actual trigger pull weight. If you have a trigger pull gauge, please share.
