Hi, I want to know if I’m overreacting or if my concerns are valid because my family acts like I’m the problem.

I’m 46 and moved back into my mom’s house about a year ago. My nephew also lives here. I’ve seen him scream at his girlfriend, call her awful names, kick her car, and have blowups that sound like he could hurt her. I’ve also heard yelling and things being thrown from another room.

One time I helped the girlfriend get home safely, and another time I called for a wellness check because it sounded so bad.

My family says I’m dramatic and that he’s an angel. Meanwhile, he’s made little threats toward me and has drinking/drug issues.

Am I overreacting, or is my family in denial?
