[positive] u/42cardpickup

Bought a small lot of low end vintage cards and it was a smooth transaction. Good price, timely shipping, and good communication throughout. Would be glad to work with them again. 👍

The Duke

Added another "low grade" HOF 52 Topps to the mix. I have been told this is a tough one to find centered. Either way I'm pleased to finally have one.

Got his mojo back?

Been a rough year for the O's so far, but a bright spot has been Adley seeming to have a comeback year. (1.3 WAR in only 24 games)

Orioles Legend

It's not a card but I hope the mods can forgive me. 😜

Larry Doby is a fairly popular guy around here, and rightfully so. All-star games, batting titles, HOF, and of course, breaking the AL color barrier shortly after Jackie Robinson did so in the NL.

But did you know Larry Doby was briefly an Oriole? He was traded from the White Sox to Baltimore in the off-season of 1958, but then traded back to CLE before the season started. Another HOF name you may know (Dick Williams) was part of that deal too. Because for some reason bouncing back and forth from Baltimore was something that happened with Williams...having 3 different stints there.

Anyway, while you might be able to find a poster of Doby in an O's jersey, there are no licensed cards. So here we are, as much as I'd love an O's uni card of his.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Maryland Monday to bring you this mini rainbow of a guy who looks to be back in 2023 all-star form.

Once I picked up the purple for next to nothing, it was inevitable. Got to love the photo too.
