This sub is hilarious

Going throw posts, people with absolutely destroyed roofs being told to just patch.

I make a post and post a picture of mine asking simply how to fix the soffit and how to extend over the drip edge on one none gutter side and every comment was "get a new roof"

lmao wtf is this shit?

Am I missing something here?

Do shingles being cut too short to the drip edge require an whole new roof? Like what is going on 😂😂😂😂

Please help! Need advice!

Hello all! New home owner here. I got a lot going on so please dont hate. Im just trying to learn and fix the previous owners mistakes.

So recently I started working on my detached garage. This all started out by my trying to replace a header.

As I dug into that I noticed an extreme amount of bugs and rot and other things. Which lead me down the path of doing gutters.

The garage has an extension removed and they did an absolute hack job.

Which leads me here. I was looking at the shingles they quite literally tore off. I wanted to make them straight down before adding the gutter. I noticed they cut and ripped them off so in some spots theres not enough to cover the drip edge and in other spots way too much.

During the inspection we were told there was 2 layers of agriculture shingles. So now im sitting here just trying to figure out how to properly replace the edge so its uniform and has the correct amount of hang over all the way down.

On top of all of that im noticing soffit missing in some spots as well. I will attach pictures.

If ANYONE can PLEASE give me some tips and tricks id greatly greatly greatly appreciate it.

Foundation issues

Hey all,

New and first home owner here. Having a bit of a huge issue.

So I wanted to replace a header in my detached garage I saw had visible termite damage. So I decided to gut that part of the garage. Upon doing so I found more and more issues. Which leads me here.

I noticed there was holes in the plywood in the base of the floor so decided to go outside and clean up and I noticed the dirt was coming up way past the foundation. So I immediately started digging out out and now im stuck trying to figure out how I can properly grade this away from the foundation while being able to be showing 4 - 6 inches of foundation.

As you can clearly see the rest of the lawn sits way higher. Im just confused how I can make this work and have done correctly without cutting corners or having someone come and making me pay 20k.

Any advice would be great and truly appreciated.
