I recently purchased a new MacBook Air 15 m5 and immediately noticed that the bottom of the trackpad isn't working. If you start moving your hand along the bottom of the trackpad, it simply doesn't register and the cursor doesn't move. However, if you start moving from the middle of the trackpad, the bottom of the trackpad works, meaning the bottom simply doesn't register the first touch. I checked the trackpad in diagnostics and it works as expected. The bottom isn't frozen, so it's probably a software issue. I thought the macOS Tahoe 26.5 update would fix the issue, but the problem persists. I also have an issue with side clicks in the same area; the click simply doesn't occur, and the trackpad locks up.
