Upgraded MN82s
My MN82 has gotten a few upgrades, since every upgrade seems to reveal a new problem :D
- New tires
- Resulting body lift
- Front & rear shock absorbers / springs to improve handling
- Plus custom-designed and 3D-printed leaf spring knuckles
- Metal drive shafts, because the travel length is higher for the body lift
- Conversion to 18650 batteries, more run time
- ESC / brushless motor / receiver upgrade since the old board was defective (high battery consumption)
- New servo, stronger to handle the larger tires and the higher weight
- Front and rear axles upgraded to metal; axle bodies still plastic, since a front axle knuckle was broken
It’s running really well right now! Thanks to the MN receiver, I can also use the original remote control and lighting. To make the light work on the new receiver, the plug needs to be modified slightly. To do this, you need to cut off the tabs so that it fits into the receiver.
Now the only weak point left is the plastic main gearbox. So far, it’s holding up :D
A second MN82 so far only has a body lift and the big tires. That one’s for the kids :D
