The show runners treatment of Alicent is genuinely horrendous. They don’t even consider her a victim of something they invented for HOTD.

They aged Alicent down to fifteen years old and had her forcibly marry a forty year old ROTTING Viserys. By the time she’s seventeen, she already has two babies and is probably pregnant with the third.

In episode five they show an explicit scene of her getting repeatedly humped by his decaying body while looking dead in the eyes. After this scene, she’s shown to be self harming by picking at her cuticles until they bleed. And yet, for some reason, this doesn’t count as sexual abuse on screen? Seriously, this is a whole rape scene and yet the showrunners completely ignore it.

What makes it even worse is that they only consider Dyanna to be the only rape victim in the show. They genuinely don’t consider Alicent to be a victim.

>And yet Hess made things clear: **”I'd like to clarify that we do not depict sexual violence in the show,"** she told Vanity Fair. **”We handle one instance off-screen, and instead show the aftermath and impact on the victim and the mother of the perpetrator."**
