Moving to the Peak District
Hi everyone!
My wife and I will be relocating to be nearer to family in Derby and have decided the Peak District would be a perfect area to move to (we love the outdoors and getting out for a hike). I thought I'd see if Reddit could be of help in suggesting any nice towns/villages to focus on!
We'd be looking at the south of the Peaks within roughly 45 mins of Derby. Our initial search radius goes from Belper up to Bakewell, across to Leak and back down through to Ashbourne.
We're mid-30's and don't have kids (not planning to either) and we are looking for places that have a nice vibe to them, good places to eat/drink, nice community, etc. and aren't too far a drive in to derby so we can see family pretty frequently.
We've been looking at the places that I mentioned but if there are any nice little villages that'd tick the box then please let me know!
We'll be doing some reconnaissance later this year to decide where we'd like to end up, so I'll be putting a list of places to look at.
