Additional Tips and Tricks

  1. Use Enemies and Storms to Your Advantage.
  • You can trigger Storms from nearly any spot on any map by shooting the glowing dot at the top of the Spotlights.

  • Trigger a storm, then start the Cryptic Sigil. Cryptic Sigils usually have fixed spawns which limit how many mobs you can kill in 30 seconds. Having a Storm will spawn more mobs, greatly increasing your total number of potential kills for the reward at the end.

  • If you're running the Cactus Day Joker, trigger the Storm at any Objective/Boss site before starting it. After the Storm is over, you'll have a ton of mines across the ground to deal with mobs, then you can start the Objective/Boss.

  • Storm Mines will disappear from the area when you step on them and won't respawn, Spotlights will respawn after some time. It's better to step on the Mine than be hit by the Spotlight.

  • You can use the Infinite Storm after killing the Boss to grind for kills, gold, and jokers.

  • Cryptids can kill each other. Bombers and Minigunners are the best for this as they stand still while firing. Train the mobs that chase you in between you and the Bomber/Minigunner to thin the herd.

  • Leave Marauders alive to help kill mobs for you (including the Treasure Goblin), this can be especially helpful if they're near an Objective/Boss.

  1. Ropes, Vines, and Ziplines
  • Enemies cannot melee you while you're on any of these (ranged units still can hit you), which makes them great for avoiding crowds of mobs on higher difficulties. Certain areas of maps (like Canyon and Jungle) allow you to chain Ropes and Ziplines or Vines together, and with enough practice gives you the ability to avoid hoards while firing down at them.

  • While riding Ziplines, you can jump off and dash to travel faster than the Zipline, then get back on the Zipline again. You can change direction midway through swinging on Vines and riding Ziplines by quickly 180ing and jumping.

  1. Spawners, Spells, and Weapon XP
  • Spawner Enemies cannot drop Gold or Jokers, so there is no reward for farming them.

  • Spawners and Spawner enemies do not count for Weapon Damage XP, Acid Spells like Bubble and Thrower work best on them.

  • Spells level on a per-cast basis, for most efficient Spell XP cast as soon as they're off CD, even if there's no enemies around.

  1. Cheese Strats for those who want 'em
  • You can completely avoid hoards of enemies by going far enough out into the water. Mobs will only come about 1 Dash distance off shore on the edges of maps, and this includes the lake in the southeast part of the Far Far West map. You can use this to revive teammates or even clear mobs from afar if you want to cheese.

  • All Danger Zones spawn a Horseman, but you can pick off the Horseman from a distance without triggering aggro. This works best with the Leverage, Long Ranger, Sheriff Stars, or Revolver. You will know you're far enough away when the Horseman just pops in to render distance, you'll see just the green outline from further, then the interior silhouette.
