20 hours played so far! What’s this game going for?

Genuine question! This year I’ve been adrift in the gaming world because since Elden Ring I’ve been on a journey with the Souls genre. I played all Froms games, many times, and others in the genre as well as games like Hollow Knight, and since finishing Silksong I realised I’ve sorta… done it. Like I can’t unlearn how these tougher games work and I no longer can get that inexperienced-advanced journey anymore.

So I’ve been trying to find games I like but are more casual, so I can use the skill I’ve gotten without needing to always look for new, harder, more complex.

my question is this: is NRFTW intended to be a Diablo-like? I really like the souls inspiration here, whereas Diablos gameplay felt too pointless to me. But I wonder if this game is one to be played through once, maybe grinded for a little bit, and then put to bed? I’m up for the ride but it’s not that perfect blend of quality souls/exploration gameplay with an intent to consistently add new things or switch up the formula.
