Sorry for the long post of what I have going on here but I need some advice. Having RTA cabinets installed in the kitchen where the previous cabinets were installed on the concrete slab then tiled up to.

The new cabinets do not fit in the untiled area because the boxes are about 1/2” deeper. The base cabinets are mostly installed but we are waiting on a few more to be delivered so I noticed how the cabinets are “bridged” between the tile edge and a block of wood near the wall on one corner (see photos) I feel like this is incorrect and the entire depth of the side panels should be continuously supported from near the tile edge to the the wall. Installer is telling me the 3/8” or so in the front that is sitting on the tile plus two small scrap pieces of 1/2” plywood on the back corners and a single cabinet screw into the stud is enough. I know you’ll gain more strength when the adjacent counters are installed and screwed together, but I still feel like this method will lead to problems.

Am I way off here?

The cabinets are Tribeca RTA and they seem to be built pretty well.
