Prime Video vs UHD

I've been reading for a long time that streaming (Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, etc) was of lower quality than Blu-Rays and UHDs but I never experienced it until now...

I watched Ready Player One on Prime Video last weekend and while the movie was perfectly fine looking and my OLED flashed the HDR logo at the beginning (thus true 4K), I thought the credits (regular white on black) looked a bit odd thinking perhaps there was some sort of filter that gives the black a dirty quality but I wasn't sure.

So tonight I downloaded a remux of the movie and A/B both and the credits on the UHD remux are almost scintillating white on a inky black background where the credits on the Prime Video are flat white and the black is more charcoal than black... Not the end of the world by any means and most won't care but the difference is quite obvious.

Now I know!

Switch to new PC

Hello,

My desktop is close to dead and keep freezing once its starts so I switched to a laptop I had and I was wondering if I have to rebuild my library or will Plex know I am the same user? I already see on the left my "old" Dell and now the "new" Acer is added to the list.

Same network, same account, same data (movies), same HDDs, but I just added a few folders and all the covers are different (right movies but not the covers I added myself) so am afraid I will have to re do it all or is there a way to keep the same library...?

The old Dell was a Windows 10 desktop the new Acer is a Windows 11 laptop if that changes anything...

Thanks!

Re-Flashing?

Let's say I buy a drive that's supposedly flashable but it doesn't work for some reason, can I flash it back to its original state and get a refund or it is impossible to do so once its flashed?

I think I remember you couldn't go back to earlier updates once you update the firmware with my OPPO Blu-Ray player way back when so I was wondering if it was the same with an optical drive.

Thanks!

Motion problems

Hello,

Am I curious to know why I get random slight motion issues with Plex on a Google Streamer and not on the native webOS app on my LG?

I much prefer the Google streamer experience and also can disable Dolby Vision with it, which I usually don't like, but can't disable it on webOS.

It's random, it's usually at the beginning of the movie but it does happens other times too, it doesn't last long but it's there. Only with the Google streamer Plex app.

Same set up, sever, TV, HDD, etc., just switching to the LG webOS Plex app and everything is smooth and fluid all the time. No motion issues at all.

Why is that? Am I missing something? Does Google adds a layer? Does Plex on Google act differently?

It's not a huge problem but it drives me nuts and I want to know why...?

Thanks!

Hello

I just bought a Macbook Neo for my mom and it's her first time with a Macbook as she always used Windows computer and the one thing that she worries about is not finding some keys and accents on the keyboard.

Is there a list somewhere of all the commands to do every possibility with the keyboard? An easy clear list (not some site with adds everywhere that will confuse her more than help) that I could add as a shortcut or website link on her Neo in case she needs it and doesn't need to call me every time?

She is French so we use lots of accents in French so a list or website of every accents possible would be great just in case.

Or any other tips would be lovely...

Thanks!
