I switched to a Battle Beaver with TMR sticks recently and something felt off right away. Not bad, just different. After playing on it for a bit, I don’t think aim assist is actually weaker. I think the sticks are just so clean that it feels weaker. On my old PS4 controller (pretty worn), there was always a tiny bit of jitter in the stick. I never thought about it, but I think that actually helped keep aim assist engaged more.
With TMR sticks, everything is super smooth and precise. Sounds good, but in game it kinda feels like tracking is smoother but less sticky, I undertrack more in close fights, and AA doesn’t grab the same way when someone is strafing. It’s like I have to do more of the work myself instead of the game helping me stay on target.
I check the noise level on my battle beaver ps4 super stock controller and it basically has zero. Compared to regular ps4 controller which had 5x times the noise.
I think this is the best nerf for aim assist. Add a code in the game where noise is set to zero so aim assist is not always active and won't be abused.
Also a default ps4 controller has the most noise out of any other controller in market out of box. Followed by Xbox. Ps5 controller. Hall effect. Then tmr sticks last place with no noise.
If your thinking about buying controller with tmr sticks. Just know its a high ceiling controller.
